- I build therapeutic relationships based on the client-centered core conditions of empathy, respect and genuineness.
- I have had a lot of success with helping young people and younger adults, as well as parents of adolescents feel more comfortable within themselves and move towards their full potential.
- I work with low level mental health difficulties that are not entrenched and relationship and personal identity issues and emotional difficulties.
- I also enjoy supervising trainee Counsellors and those in the early stages of their practice.

To Whom It May Concern Re: Marc Bevan I have known Marc since 1997 when he was a volunteer placement for a counselling service I set up in a local school. Marc had an immediate rapport with young people aged 11+ and was able to engage the most challenged and troubled young people. Marc then taught with me on a counselling Certificate course, and again, his easy manner and commitment to unconditional valuing of others and empathy meant that even the most anxious of students could comfortably learn. More recently, I have been Marc’s supervisor for his work in a secondary school with disaffected young people and for his private practice. Marc is able to sit with distress without putting pressure on the young people he is working with to do anything other than process their feelings in a safe environment, which he facilitates with empathy, compassion and authenticity. Alongside this, Marc is well aware of safe-guarding issues and the importance of working within legal and ethical frameworks to ensure the well-being of his young clients.
